At G.A.S. Land and Cattle Co., we typically focus on mid-size cattle. With the majority of people wanting to get into cattle not having hundreds of acres, these smaller animals are oftentimes just the ticket. They are more feed efficient, having a better feed-to-beef ratio, meaning they eat less feed. Also, they can be less intimidating to people, particularly those who aren’t familiar with or didn’t grow up around cattle. Very often a smaller beef in the freezer can be more manageable than a commercial sized steer.

Heath, Jay, and Chase are passionate about healthy cattle. We buy a lot of them that appear to need saving. Our goal, then, is to get them healthy and find them a good place to live, whether that be as a production cow, breeding bull, pet, or, ultimately, a freezer beef. Yes, we eat beef. We take good care of them while we have them and believe they should be treated with kindness and respect. However, at the end of the day, we love a good steak!
